Tunic Love

This. Tunic. I am seriously in love with the color, length, fit, style... everything! It's a very "spring-y" color so I see myself wearing this a whole lot over the next few months. For the first go-round I opted for a pair of crisp white skinnies and my favorite {super sized} statement necklace. I think distressed boyfriend jeans might be up next :) Shop more of my favorite tunics below!

I apologize for the lack of posts this week. Our entire weekend was dedicated to the #BigAlStrong fundraiser and let me tell you.. It was INCREDIBLE. We raised just over $24,000 for Alex & Jamie to combat the costs of chemo, hospital stays, etc. I love how our little community came together to rally in support of them. It makes me so proud to be from that sweet small town.

Have a wonderful Thursday girls!

Versatility: Utility Stripes { + Giveaway }

Riffraff Striped Top {love this & this}   /   JCP Utility Jacket {almost identical}   /   similar Black Skinnies   /   old Leopard flats {need these for $20!}   /   Francesca's Grey Clutch {monogram version here}   /   Kendra Scott necklace 1 & 2   /   Kate Spade watch   /   J.Crew bracelet

< shop more similar options below >

On a teacher budget, it's important to have lots of pieces in your closet that can be mixed & matched with other staples in your wardrobe. I wore this striped top earlier this week here & this utility jacket here. They are both basic pieces that I can easily pair with lots of things in my closet to get the most use out of them! I have a really hard time justifying purchases of items that I am limited to only 1 or 2 outfit options. While I never spend much on clothing items {& I almost always buy on sale}, it is easier to buy "nicer" things when I can instantly picture 10+ outfits in my head!

Stripes are so easy. They are great for print mixing- think: florals, polkadots, plaid, leopard, etc. & This utility jacket { + my denim jacket} are the best pieces for spring! They go with just about everything & are great layering pieces when the weather is up and down.

Well I hope you girls have had a great week so far! This weekend is the #BigAlStrong Fundraiser so I am ready to get home & get the party started!

Winter Mint

One of my favorite colors {at any time of the year} is mint. It can be so pretty in the winter paired with white or navy yet bright & cheery in the spring mixed with coral or yellow. Since it's a color I wear a lot & I like how it looks on, I often find myself searching websites specifically for mint colored items! Today I decided I would share my favorite finds with you in case you love mint as much as I do :) It is such a great color that can help your closet flow into the new season!

I hate cold. I hate snow. But I love me some snow days!!! As a teacher, there is no better 3am phone call than the one telling you to turn that alarm off and sleep in :) Even though you can't tell by these pictures {taken over the weekend}, Oklahoma was coated in ice & snow yesterday. That meant lots of movie watching & a little cleaning for my Monday! No complaining here.

If you have been following me for any amount of time at all on Instagram, you might know that I am a big fan of mixing prints. Sometimes it's as simple as leopard shoes & a polka dot top while other times I'll throw in three prints layered together! Today's look might not be for everybody, but anyone can mix prints in a {probably more subtle} way that works for them. What prints or patterns are your go-to?

Hope you ladies have a fabulous Tuesday!

HOME. { + Le Boutique Shop}

Whew! That weekend flew by way too fast!

One thing making me feel better? This darling top from Le Boutique Shop! It's the perfect mix of stripes & chambray. Two things I wear a lot. It's the perfect piece to dress up with a blazer or pencil skirt during the day and then make it much more casual like I did with jeans & a jacket for nights or weekends! I also foresee this striped top being perfect for spring with printed shorts or distressed denim. LBS has so many cute things that are part of their new spring line. This print mix top and the tulle skirt {in 3 color options} are my favorites :)

I want to talk for a second about my hometown {where these pictures were taken}.. It's a small little place with a population of about 11,000 people. Webb City is the kind of place you can't go anywhere without running into someone you know. Even though I haven't actually lived in WC since 2008, I will always call it "home." Jake & I's parents still live there & we visit often. Perhaps one of my favorite things about this sweet town is going downtown. The historic buildings have such great character & I love the details and uniqueness of each building. I am so happy to see more businesses {slowly} making downtown their home. Maybe one day my own little dream of a shop in downtown WC will come true... One day after the military life.
